Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley suffered an injury after taking a hard hit in the third quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Huntley, who was filling in for injured starter Lamar Jackson, first went to the medical tent before heading to the locker room. Undrafted free agent rookie Anthony Brown is now under center for Baltimore.

The Ravens have announced that Huntley is in the concussion protocol and had been ruled out for the remainder of today’s game.

Tyler Huntley Injured, Anthony Brown Takes Over for Ravens

Huntley had completed eight of 12 attempts for 86 yards and helped the Ravens to a 13-7 lead over the Steelers before departing. He was also heavily utilized in the rushing attack, handling nine carries for 31 yards.

Huntley, 24, started four games in place of Jackson in 2021. The Utah product completed 65% of his passes for 1,081 yards, three touchdowns, and four interceptions, and Baltimore went 1-3 in his appearances.

Jackson suffered a knee injury in Week 13 and is expected to be sidelined for 1-3 weeks. If Huntley is sidelined, the Ravens will have to rely on the unproven Brown as the season winds down and the playoffs approach.

Brown spent his first three collegiate seasons at Boston College before transferring to Oregon for the 2020 and 2021 campaigns. In his final season with the Ducks, Brown completed 64% of his attempts for 2,989 yards, 19 TDs, and seven INTs. He also rushed for 658 yards and nine more scores.

Brown wasn’t drafted, but he signed with the Ravens as a UDFA and eventually landed on Baltimore’s practice squad. He’s not technically on Baltimore’s active roster, as he was elevated from the practice squad prior to today’s game.
