The Baltimore Ravens and rookie outside linebacker David Ojabo have agreed to a contract. The second round pick, who is still recovering from a torn achilles had yet to report to the Ravens facility for training camp. Until Tuesday’s signing Ojabo was the only rookie yet to sign a contract. The details of the contract in which the Ravens signed Ojabo to have yet to be released.

Outside linebacker David Ojabo saw his draft stock fall after his achilles injury suffered during his pro day in March. Once considered a top-15 draft prospect, Ojabo slipped to the second round where the Ravens selected him with the 45th overall selection.

Ojabo had a stand out junior season for the Michigan Wolverines in which he finished 2021 with 36 tackles, 10 sacks, and five forced fumbles, while also earning All-Big Ten honors along the way. Ojabo alongside teammate and second overall pick, Aiden Hutchinson, helped the Wolverines defense finish 20th in the country, giving up an average of 330.8 yards per game and allowing just 28 total touchdowns.

While the timetable for when Ojabo will see the field this season is uncertain, training camp is an important time for rookies. Training camp is spent creating connections with new coaches and teammates, learning an NFL playbook, all while becoming accustomed to the demands of the NFL. Although Ojabo missed the first week of camp. Ojabo has the luxury of having his former defensive coordinator at Michigan, Mike Macdonald, now heading the Ravens defense.
