The Bears added another Tennessee offensive lineman on Monday when they signed former Volunteers guard Jerome Carvin.

The 6-foot-5, 321-pounder was a teammate of Darnell Wright's with the Vols and went undrafted before signing with Kansas City. He was waived just before the regular season by the Chiefs.

Carvin had played in 59 games with 42 starts

The Bears are fairly deep at guard and this would be considered a project signing.

Ja'Tyre Carter has been on the roster all year after coming in as a 2022 seventh-round pick from Southern. Veterans Dan Feeney and Cody Whitehair are the current backups behind starters Teven Jenkins and Nate Davis, and ahead of Carter.

Carter and Bill Murray are the only pure guards on the practice squad.
