The Chicago Bears have done a lot of work when it comes to upgrading their roster, with one of their best moves being the acquisition of wide receiver DJ Moore. Ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Bears made a trade with the Carolina Panthers centered around the first overall pick.

As part of the deal, DJ Moore was on his way to the Windy City. Another piece of the package was the Panthers’ first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. That turned out to be a major asset, as it turned into the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

With that selection, the Bears found their new franchise quarterback. With the first overall pick, they selected USC quarterback Caleb Williams. His arrival has sparked a lot of excitement in Chicago, as they have been searching for a franchise quarterback essentially for the duration of their franchise.

There is hope that Caleb Williams can become that player. He was highly productive during his time with the Trojans and evaluators believe he has what it takes to become at star in the NFL. But, what is it that separates Caleb Williams from his peers at the position?

In the opinion of DJ Moore, one thing sets him apart from the rest; anticipation. That is what he told Kay Adams during an appearance on her show, Up and Adams, when asked about his new quarterback.

Being able to anticipate what a defense is going to do and where your receivers are going to be is a skill elite quarterbacks have. They can dissect what is going to happen before it does, which helps them put the team in a position to succeed.

Caleb Williams is entering a great situation with the Bears. DJ Moore is being joined by veteran Keenan Allen and rookie Rome Odunze, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Williams has the supporting cast No. 1 overall picks don’t normally have to hit the ground running.
