The Bears started practices for their Christmas Eve game against Arizona working through a few key injuries on both sides of the ball.

Guard Teven Jenkins remains in the concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in the first half Sunday against Cleveland.

Two other key injuries of note are on defense, where defensive end DeMarcus Walker and cornerback Jaylon Johnson missed practice.

Walker replaced injured Yannick Njakoue, who is out for the season with a broken ankle. Walker had more plays (54) than in any game this season, produced half a sack and two tackles for loss.

Coach Matt Eberflus characterized Walker's injury as "tweaking" his leg. Walker was able to participate on a limited basis, going through walk-throughs only.

"We need another day to assess, and he's day-to-day right now but it looks to be good," Eberflus said.

It could mean more playing time for Dominique Robinson, who was active for the first time in seven weeks against the Browns and had 19 plays but did not have a tackle or pass rush pressure. Nonetheless, Eberflus termed it a "solid job."

"He played well in the run game," Eberflus said. "Obviously everything starts with hustle and effort. He did a nice job. His intensity was good."

Johnson missed practice with a calf injury. Wide receiver Darnell Mooney missed practice due to illness while running back Travis Homer missed with a hamstring injury.

Linebacker Noah Sewell (knee) and Equanimeous St. Brown (pectoral) missed practice with injuries bothering them since before the last game.
