It's well known at this point, but the Chicago Bears' new and improved team embarrassed themselves on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. The Packers trounced the Bears on their home field 38-20  in Week 1. Chicago failed in every facet of the game, and Matt Eberflus and his staff were out-coached.

To make matters worse, the loss comes in the aftermath of several Bears players talking about how things would change against Green Bay moving forward.

Bears defensive tackle Justin Jones, particularly, had plenty of words for the Packers ahead of Sunday's matchup. Jones and many Bears fans hoped that the rivalry would look a lot different with Aaron Rogers gone.

Based on the scoreboard, Jones and anyone else in the Bears locker room talking didn't do any walking. When keying in on Jones' game, it's even worse. The defensive lineman saw the field for 39 plays, which makes up almost two-thirds of the snaps on defense. He failed to register one tackle. Not one.

When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong

As a matter of fact, he didn't show up on the stat sheet at all. Jones didn't have a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, a sack, or even an assisted tackle on the day. It's a tough scene for someone who did A LOT of trash-talking. Not only did he embarrass himself, but he embarrassed the fans as well.

Talking a lot before a big game is always the kiss of death to me. In my opinion, if you need to talk trash before a game, it makes you look desperate. And if you have some things to say about your opposition, save it for the field when you can tell them directly. Unless you're scared, or just bad at football.
