The air in Chicago is lightened, thanks to former Chicago Bears linebacker Dick Butkus.

With the Bears going 2-1 after Sunday’s win against the Houston Texans, it was time for the team to have fun.

However, the way they did it was by letting one of their legends take over the team’s Twitter account.

With the Bears’ password in hand, Butkus when to work having a blast in Chicago.

It All Started With A Simple “Hello”

The first tweet that Butkus sent out on the Bears’ official account was a simple “Hello.”

From there, the Bears legend posted several photos and videos of himself.

He also posted a poll for fans to take part in with what he should do first.

The antics of Butkus helped give everyone a laugh, Bears fan or not.

However, a story he told was something that brought back fond memories.

Butkus Talks About His Favorite Game

The 2022 season started with the Bears winning over the San Francisco 49ers in monsoon conditions.

However, it wasn’t the first game between the two at this level.

Butkus shared his story of another muddy battle between the Bears and 49ers at Wrigley Field.

He recounted the six touchdowns teammate Gale Sayers had in the game, a record for an NFL player.

As he told the story, he mentioned how Sayers should have gotten seven touchdowns in that game.

With his story, fans are reminded of a time when the Bears had some of the greatest players in the NFL.

However, the time with Butkus ended with him telling fans one more thing.

TikTok Scares Off Butkus

The fun the Bears legend was having ended when there was a request for him to do a TikTok video.

While his playful fun with the account concluded then, there was one last tweet the Bears made with Butkus.

In the video, someone got Butkus to do a TikTok video.

The best part of the video was where the Bears legend said, “I helped build this place.”

There’s no doubt that he was a player who helped build the Bears team.

With him, the image of the Bears’ defense was one to be afraid of on game day.

Butkus Proves To Be A Legend And Jokester

Butkus is a legendary defensive player and also a jokester on Twitter.

His antics on the Bears’ Twitter account weren’t different from the ones he has on his personal account.

This all shows how Butkus is an all-around great guy.

His light-hearted joking is just what the Bears need this season.

While the team is off to a good start, keeping the mood light-hearted sometimes helps.

They need this because this season will test the will of the new leadership in Chicago.

So, when the Bears chose Butkus to take over the team’s Twitter, they picked the right guy.

Bears fans can now smile, thanks to Butkus and his Twitter takeover.
