As the Chicago Bears are getting their mandatory minicamp underway, there are several notable stories coming out of Halas Hall. Robert Quinn was noticeably absent. Jaylon Johnson picked off quarterback Justin Fields today. Finally, the training staff carted offensive lineman, Dakota Dozier, off the field with an apparent injury.

Needless to say, it was a day for the Chicago Bears.

Dakota Dozier Injury

The Bears recently brought in Dakota Dozier to compete for a role on the offensive line. He left the game with an apparent injury while mixing reps with the starters. Head coach Matt Eberflus did not have an update on the severity of Dozier’s injury.

Offensive Tackles

Rookie offensive lineman, Braxton Jones, played alongside Larry Borom with the starters today at minicamp. Thus far, Jones and Borom are the starting offensive tackles for the Bears. But there will likely be more shuffling of the line as the minicamp continues.

Bears Minicamp Roundup and What’s Next

The Chicago Bears minicamp is only beginning and hopefully, Dakota Dozier isn’t seriously hurt. Bill Polian and former Bears’ defensive coordinator, Rod Marinelli, attended practice today.

Marinelli will speak with the Bears’ players later. This continues the Bears’ attempts to rekindle their relationships with former employees as they did with Charles Tillman.

Following the minicamp, several Chicago Bears players and coaches met with the media. When asked about rookie wide receiver, Velus Jones Jr., Darnell Mooney had nothing but praise for him. He mentioned Jones Jr.’s speed and commented on how he’s going to make plays.

The Bears minicamp continues this week and players will keep dealing with some serious heat. But it appears the group is welcoming the challenge and doing what Coach Flus says they’ll do: adapt to adversity.
