When the Chicago Bears signed offensive lineman, Riley Reiff, they acquired a highly-decorated NFL veteran. Reiff met with the media on Wednesday and addressed several different issues. He also compared Bears quarterback Justin Fields to Bengals quarterback, Joe Burrow.

When asked about his lone season with Cincinnati, the Super Bowl run, and Joe Burrow, Reiff praised his former quarterback. He talked about how they didn’t discuss a championship heading into the season but they started stacking good practices and building off of that. He claims that’s exactly what they’re going to do in Chicago.

Furthermore, when talking about Joe Burrow he said this:

“Joe Burrow’s an awesome guy. Tough, smart, I see a lot of that in Justin [Fields]. They just come out to work every day. They’re good guys, good humans, study. They take control of it. Joe really took control of our offense last year. And I see that in Justin so far too.”

Riley Reiff

Reiff finished his media day by mentioning the young players on the Chicago Bears offensive line. When asked about Teven Jenkins, Larry Borom, and Braxton Jones, Reiff described them as ‘real athletic’.

“They’re athletic, real athletic. They’re gonna become seasoned, obviously, it takes time. Especially nowadays in the NFL… They’re good, man. All are very smart, and very athletic. They’re gonna be good players.”

Riley Reiff

Reiff is joining his third team in the NFC North: the Chicago Bears. He spent the first nine years of his career with Detroit and Minnesota, so he knows how tough this division can be. He’s been around long enough and has blocked for several high-caliber quarterbacks.

Comparing Justin Fields to Joe Burrow is a good sign and Riley Reiff clearly knows what it takes to succeed in the NFL.
