Bears QB Justin Fields 'good' to play vs. Packers

Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields tweaked his knee in this past Sunday's 20-9 win over the Las Vegas Raiders that improved Chicago to 3-2 on the season but won't miss this Sunday's showdown with the 4-1 Green Bay Packers, an opponent that has won four straight games.

According to Jeff Dickerson of ESPN, Fields told reporters Wednesday he'll be "good" for Sunday's matchup, and Bears head coach Matt Nagy added his QB1 will be a full participant in midweek practices and "is doing fine."

Veteran and former Chicago starter Andy Dalton temporarily replaced Fields against the Raiders but will return to the bench for Week 6 unless the first-year pro suffers an unexpected setback ahead of the weekend. Nagy named Fields his full-time starting signal-caller last week.

Fields, meanwhile, admitted he's "excited" about facing Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers for the first time.

"He's a great quarterback," Fields said of the future Hall of Famer. "He's been playing since as long as I can remember. I know it's gonna be a good matchup between him and our defense. Our defense has been playing well. I'm excited to see him play."

Thus far, Fields has completed 37-of-72 passes for 458 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, and he's also contributed 59 rushing yards and a score on the ground.
