Hours after Ryan Poles was on the Pat McAfee Show discussing the process behind the Bears drafting punter Tory Taylor, Chicago released current punter,  Trenton Gill.

Bears Waive Trenton Gill

On Wednesday afternoon, the Chicago Bears announced they released punter Trenton Gill after two seasons.

The Bears selected Trenton Gill 255th overall in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Gill played in 34 games for the Bears and averaged 46.1 yards per punt.

In the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Iowa punter, Tory Taylor. With Gill's release, Taylor is the lone punter on Chicago's roster and will be there for the future at the position.
