Bears reportedly looking to trade former Super Bowl MVP QB Nick Foles

Shortly after it was reported that quarterback Trevor Siemian agreed to a two-year deal with the Chicago Bears on Friday, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo provided an update on fellow Bears signal-caller Nick Foles. With enticing talent Justin Fields set to take over as Chicago's full-time starter in 2022, Siemian was rumored to possibly supplant Foles as the team's backup or at least compete for the gig.

Garafolo notes that the Super Bowl LII MVP may soon be on his way out the "Windy City" though.

Foles is coming off an unmemorable season with the Bears in which he saw action in just one game (a contest he started) behind Fields and Andy Dalton. The one-time Pro Bowler was inactive for eight of the team's first 10 games, and when he finally saw the field in Week 16 against the Seattle Seahawks, he finished 24-for-35 with 250 passing yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions.

In his 10-season NFL career with the Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars, the 33-year-old Foles has registered a 62.4% completion percentage with 14,003 passing yards, 82 touchdowns and 43 interceptions. During his Pro Bowl season in 2013, Foles led the NFL in yards per completion (14.2) and quarterback rating (119.2), among other categories.
