Bears to start QB Mitchell Trubisky vs. Lions

Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky wasn't bad enough against the Green Bay Packers in prime time to lose his job for the second time this season.

As Jeff Dickerson reported for ESPN, Chicago head coach Matt Nagy told reporters on Wednesday that Trubisky will remain his starter for this Sunday's divisional showdown with the Detroit Lions.

One-time Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Nick Foles, who replaced Trubisky in Week 3, missed last weekend's outing because of a hip injury, and Trubisky completed 26-of-46 (56.5 percent) passes for 242 yards with three touchdowns and three turnovers in the 41-25 loss to Green Bay.

Trubisky possesses a total QBR of 54.2 for the campaign, which, according to ESPN, would have him ranked 26th overall among eligible signal-callers.

"After watching the mistakes, the main thing is taking care of the football," Trubisky explained during his media availability. "It's easy to say, a little bit harder to do, especially going into it, you just have the mindset, 'I'm going to take care of the football, I'm not going to force things.'

"So, it's very obvious to say. You just have to go out there and do it."

If Foles is healthy next midweek, he could again receive the keys to the offense when the Bears host the Houston Texans on Dec. 13.
