Bears WR Byron Pringle arrested, charged in Florida

Wide receiver Byron Pringle signed a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears in March after spending the first three seasons of his career with the Kansas City Chiefs. Based on some of his actions from over the weekend, he doesn't appear to be making a great first impression on his new club.

According to NFL.com, Pringle was arrested and charged with reckless driving and driving on a suspended license by Florida Highway Patrol on Saturday evening.

Pringle signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and made his NFL debut in 2019. The Kansas St. product made just 25 catches for 330 yards and two touchdowns on 33 targets in 29 games over his first two seasons.

The 28-year-old Pringle posted career highs across the board in targets (60), receptions (42), receiving yards (568) and receiving touchdowns (five) in 2021, while adding 12 catches for 82 yards and three scores in Kansas City's three postseason games over the winter.
