Bengals kicker Evan McPherson called his shot before game-winning field goal

Evan McPherson knew before anyone else that the Bengals were going to win on Saturday.

After Cincinnati's thrilling 19-16 win over Tennessee in the divisional round, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow said that McPherson called his shot before kicking the game-winning field goal as time expired.

According to Burrow, when warming up his leg as the offense set up the game-winning 52 yarder, McPherson turned to backup quarterback Brandon Allen and made the declaration.

“Well, looks like we’re going to the AFC Championship Game," McPherson reportedly said.

He made good on that promise moments later, booming the kick through the uprights to send Cincinnati to its first AFC Championship Game in 33 years.

McPherson drilled all four of his field-goal attempts in the game, converting from 38, 45, 52 and 54 yards in addition to an extra point.

The Bengals drafted McPherson in the fifth round of last year's draft out of Florida. He hit 28 of 33 kicks during his rookie season, including 9 of 11 from 50-plus yards.
