Bengals linked to two-time Super Bowl champion

The Bengals don't have a lot of holes to fill in their roster this offseason. But one of their few may be filled with a two-time Super Bowl champion.

That player is safety Juan Thornhill who already has two rings in the first four seasons of his career with the Chiefs and he would be a perfect fit in Cincinnati, according to NFL.com's Nick Shook.

The Bengals need to make a decision at the safety position with Jessie Bates III and Vonn Bell both set to become free agents. The team does have Daxton Hill, whom it drafted with their first-round pick a year ago, but it needs to choose who will line up with him in the secondary.

"Thornhill's production is on par with Bell, which might make such a move seem more lateral than upward, but he's a year younger and likely won't cost too much," Shook writes.

Cincinnati does have some money to spend this offseason, but the exact amount is still unknown as the team is reportedly "gearing up" to pay QB Joe Burrow. The Bengals currently have a projected $33.98 million of cap space, per Spotrac.

The 27-year-old had 71 tackles, three interceptions, nine passes defended and one sack on the way to his second ring in 2022. If Thornhill is chasing rings, Cincinnati wouldn't be a bad choice to go to next.
