The Cincinnati Bengals opened up a roster spot ahead of Week 17 by waiving defensive tackle Domenique Davis.

Cincinnati signed Davis to the active roster last Friday, and now have a spot for cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt, who can be activated off the Reserve/Injured list this week.

Davis, an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft, has been with the Bengals since the 2022 offseason. He spent the 2022 season on the practice squad and has done the same this year up until Friday afternoon.

Davis made a solid case to make the initial 53-man roster this year. He racked up nine pressures and a sack in three preseason games for Cincinnati in August, but he was ultimately waived during the roster cutdown period.

Though he was active in Week 16 vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers, Davis never saw the field for the Bengals. He will likely be signed back to the practice squad after receiving a game check.

Now with 52 players on the active roster, the Bengals are expected to activate Taylor-Britt sometime this week.
