Bengals OC Brian Callahan: Focus on Titans, not Broncos interview

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow confidently remarked Tuesday that this past Saturday's win over the Las Vegas Raiders, Cincinnati's first playoff victory in 31 years, is "the bare minimum every year going forward" for the long-suffering franchise. If Burrow is correct, he better get used to assistants such as offensive coordinator Brian Callahan earning interviews with other clubs during the postseason.

Per Ben Baby of ESPN, Callahan is set to interview with the Denver Broncos Thursday about their head-coach opening, just two days before the Bengals play at the Tennessee Titans with a berth in the AFC Championship Game on the line. Callahan told reporters Wednesday he's using personal time "later at night, early in the morning" to prepare for that meeting but isn't letting the opportunity distract him from the main task at hand.

"My focus is 100% on this game and to our players," Callahan said. "There's no other focus for me."

According to ESPN stats, Callahan's offense finished the regular season tied for seventh in scoring with 27.1 points per game. He previously worked for the Broncos from 2010 through the 2015 campaign, first as a coaching assistant and later as quarterbacks coach for the roster that defeated the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.

He joined the Bengals as offensive coordinator after the 2018 season.
