Bengals player: Carson Palmer quit on us in 2011
As the 8-1 Cincinnati Bengals take on the 7-2 Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, one Bengals player, and former teammate of Cards quarterback Carson Palmer, had some choice words for the former Bengal.
The unnamed Bengals player, clearly isn't happy with the way Palmer left the organization.
Palmer, who was drafted by the Bengals with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, left Cincinnati in 2011 after he reportedly requested a trade from the team. Palmer was traded to the Raiders and eventually ended up in Arizona, where he has gone 23-8 as their starter.
To Carson Palmer, Sunday's game against the Bengals holds isn't just another one, as you so often hear athletes say. It holds some extra significance to him.
Palmer is having a career renaissance, and the Cardinals can take a firm grasp of the NFC West with a win on Sunday over the Bengals — so it's no surprise to hear he's extra motivated.
Palmer played eight seasons for the Bengals, leading them to two playoff appearances.
