Bengals QB Joe Burrow: Playoff success 'the bare minimum every year going forward'

The Cincinnati Bengals penned a new page for the history books, notching their first playoff win in 31 years via Saturday's 26-19 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. That victory set up a matchup at the top-seeded Tennessee Titans this coming Saturday.

Quarterback and second-year pro Joe Burrow was largely excellent in guiding the Bengals to their latest achievement. He completed 24-of-34 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns against the Raiders. Burrow spoke with the media on Tuesday and made it clear he wants to change expectations fans have for the franchise moving forward.

"I think the fans were very excited, but I tried to downplay it and all that because this is how it’s going to be from here on out," Burrow explained, according to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. "It was a great win for us, but this is the standard — the bare minimum every year going forward."

With the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns all set to watch this coming weekend's NFL action from their homes, the reigning AFC North champions are the division's only team left in the postseason. While Burrow and company are betting underdogs as of Tuesday afternoon, he left little doubt he fully expects the Bengals to advance to the AFC Championship Game on Saturday.
