Bengals TE C.J. Uzomah carted to locker room with knee injury in AFC title game

Cincinnati Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah suffered a knee injury in the first quarter of the AFC Championship Game and was carted to the locker room. The team later ruled Uzomah doubtful to return.

Uzomah, 29, was targeted by Joe Burrow on a pass in the middle of the field, but he crumpled after he was hit on the side of his leg by a Kansas City Chiefs defender. He struggled to the sideline and was shown in tears while being carted off the field.

The seventh-year tight end has had a career year with 493 receiving yards and five touchdowns in the regular season, as well as another 135 yards and one touchdown in the playoffs. Including the postseason, Uzomah has 14 career touchdowns in 82 career games with the Bengals.

A year ago, Uzomah suffered an Achilles tear early in the 2020 season and spent the remainder of the year on injured reserve.
