Bengals Twitter account offers humorous, promising update on Joe Burrow

The Cincinnati Bengals official Twitter account offered a humorous, promising update on quarterback Joe Burrow on Friday morning.

The former No. 1 overall pick went down and was carted off the practice field on Thursday afternoon after suffering a right calf injury.

While no official diagnosis has been made yet, "Who Dey Nation" can at least take some solace in reading the four words "Joey will be back."

If there's any silver lining to Burrow's injury, it's that it happened during the early stages of training camp and with Week 1 of the regular season still over six weeks away. The Bengals will open the 2023 campaign on Sept. 10 on the road against the Cleveland Browns.

Ironically, Thursday isn't the first time that the former Heisman Trophy winner has suffered a training camp injury or issue in July.

Burrow played 10 games during his 2020 rookie season before suffering a torn ACL and MCL in Week 11, prematurely ending his year. He returned for a full 2021 season and played in all 16 of the team's contests during the 2022 campaign as well.

The 26-year-old did, however, miss nearly one month of training camp last summer due to his appendectomy.

Burrow made his first Pro Bowl last season and finished fourth in the MVP voting after setting career highs in completions (414), passing touchdowns (35), rushing yards (257) and rushing touchdowns (five).
