Bengals WR Tee Higgins reveals which team he thought would draft him

Tee Higgins has emerged as one of the top offensive weapons on the Cincinnati Bengals. However, leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft, Higgins thought he'd be playing in an entirely different conference.

A guest on Mad Dog Sports Radio on Friday, Higgins revealed that he "definitely" thought the Green Bay Packers were selecting him in the first round. Higgins ultimately dropped out of the first round, selected by the Bengals with the first selection of the second round.

"I thought they was gonna draft me in that spot, but they didn't," Higgins said. "I fell to the second round, which I'm okay with."

Higgins said he fell into the "perfect situation" in Cincinnati. While Higgins never ended up catching passes from Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, he's grown alongside star quarterback Joe Burrow and now dynamic young receiver Ja'Marr Chase.

This season, Higgins caught 74 passes for the second consecutive year, adding 1,029 receiving yards and a career-high seven touchdowns. Over three seasons in Cincinnati, Higgins has 215 catches for 3,028 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, when the Packers decided to pass on Higgins, they used the No. 26 pick in the first round on quarterback Jordan Love. The selection has yet to pay dividends for the Packers, but with Rodgers' uncertain future, it may finally be Love's time to shine. After going 0-1 in his lone NFL start last year, Love attempted only 21 passes in 2022, throwing for 195 yards and a touchdown.
