Best and worst NFL teams to bet on through four weeks

Cooper Rush is 3-0 as a starter this year and 3-0 ATS. It sounds like he'll be getting one more start this weekend, with Dak Prescott nearing a recovery from his thumb injury.

Worst teams ATS

Ahead of Week 4, three teams had yet to cover a spread: Las Vegas, New Orleans and New England. All three delivered against the spread, though only the Raiders won.

We have a packed list here of teams 1-3 ATS, but the group here certainly aligns with the disappointment levels fans are feeling towards some of these franchises. The Broncos, Colts, Raiders and Rams were all expected to be better than they are, but no team is above .500 thus far.

It's surprising to see Minnesota here despite the Vikings moving to 3-1 overall. They are playing some tight games and have yet to cover as a betting favorite. 

Trouble is brewing in Carolina, with Baker Mayfield's seat growing hot. The Panthers will be a nice team to fade for most of the year it seems.

Best teams: Over

It's been a season of unders so far, which explains why only three teams out of 32 have gone over in three or more games this year.

2. Atlanta Falcons (3-1)
3. Cleveland Browns (3-1)
4. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1)

It really helps to have one of the NFL's best offenses and the worst defense when betting on a team's overs. That's the pairing this Detroit team trots out each Sunday, and Lions games should continue to be extremely high-scoring. Jared Goff is playing very well.

The Falcons, Browns and Jaguars are all inside the top-eight of points per game, averaging 25.8 or higher through four weeks. 

Best teams: Under

Three teams finally hit an over in Week 4 in the Broncos, Packers and Buccaneers, leaving us with three perfect 4-0 under teams to start the 2022 NFL season.

1. Cincinnati Bengals (4-0)
2. Indianapolis Colts (4-0)
3. San Francisco 49ers (4-0)

While the Niners are here thanks to their elite defense, you have to consider the Bengals and Colts placement on this list a product of an underperforming offense. Cincinnati finally came alive this past week, scoring 27 points, so perhaps their first over is almost here.

Week 5 Games of Interest

Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles Rams —  All Cooper Rush has done this year is cover the spread, and now with Michael Gallup back, this Cowboys offense has weapons throughout. The defense has been even more impressive, particularly at generating pressure against the quarterback. Matthew Stafford and the Rams have not looked good, especially along the offensive line. Only Carson Wentz (17) has been sacked more than Stafford, who has been brought to the turf 16 times in four games. Micah Parsons and this Dallas defense could have a field day against the Rams next Sunday. 

Somehow, the Cowboys are +4 in this game.
