While NFL training camp is still a few short weeks away, Pro Football Focus recently took a closer look at the Las Vegas Raiders’ roster. Their secondary is their “X-factor” in 2022, but what about their biggest strength?

As most fans know, the team’s brass was busy this offseason revamping the roster. Among the transactions that general manager Dave Ziegler executed was the trade for Davante Adams. Up to that point, many were wondering if the Raiders would end up making a major move to shake up the AFC West. All of their rival teams were making it a point to acquire next-level talent. It was a true arms race. Ziegler hit a grand slam by getting Adams. He already had playmakers like Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller, but by getting Adams, he assembled what is arguably the best group of wide receivers in the division, and maybe even the league.

The Raiders’ passing attack is their biggest strength this season

The team’s new head coach, Josh McDaniels, is known for his use of the run game in his offenses. While McDaniels has a talented backfield, the Raiders’ passing attack will be their bread and butter. PFF’s Ben Linsey stated that Adams’ arrival takes the offense to another level as he examined the Silver and Black’s unit.

“The Davante Adams addition gives the Raiders’ passing attack the receiver that it was really missing. Derek Carr ranked first in PFF passing grade on throws between the numbers in 2021 as compared to 22nd on throws outside the numbers, but now he has one of the truly elite route runners in the league who can win consistently on the outside at his disposal. Add in Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller, and Las Vegas’ passing game has the potential to be explosive in 2022.”

While all of the teams in the West made significant improvements, the potential attack of the Raiders has drawn much praise. While it is July, it can’t be denied that team is stacked with their top three offensive options right now. Despite concerns surrounding the offensive line, Carr finally has in place as perfect of an arsenal as he’ll have in his playing career.
