Bill Belichick praises Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes ahead of Week 4 matchup

The New England Patriots certainly aren't the favorites in their Week 4 matchup against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, and while Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will try to pull out all the stops to beat the Chiefs, he couldn't help but praise one member of their squad.

Belichick was asked to discuss Mahomes' outstanding "Monday Night Football" performance against the Baltimore Ravens, and he tipped his cap to the former MVP.

"All the superlatives that have been said about him, I'd just be repeating them all," Belichick said Tuesday morning after watching the Chiefs defeat the Ravens by a 34-20 final just hours prior (via ESPN's Mike Reiss).

Mahomes threw for four touchdowns and rushed for another while becoming the fastest quarterback to reach 10,000 passing yards in NFL history.

Belichick, like everyone else, has been very impressed with the young quarterback thus far. Mahomes has completed 67.8% of his passes for 898 yards, nine touchdowns and zero interceptions through three games this season, recording a 114.3 passer rating. Quite frankly, it won't be easy to stop him.

The Chiefs offense is averaging 30.3 points per game, which ranks fourth in the NFL, but that's not all. They're also averaging 433.3 yards per game, which ranks fifth in the league.

With Cam Newton at the helm of New England's offense this season, things are bound to be interesting between two former MVP quarterbacks. If the Patriots want any hope of beating Andy Reid's squad this weekend, they'll have to play to their strengths.
