There are dozens of storylines about to be featured in the Buffalo Bills' nationally televised Saturday night meeting at the hapless and rudderless Los Angeles Chargers.

First and foremost, of course: The Bills are 8-6 and chasing the playoffs ... and all other sidebars pale in comparison to that.

But one of those sidebars has to do with the Coaching Carousel. ... in both Buffalo and Los Angeles - which has one website speculating that tonight's game might be serving as an job audition for Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore ...

And that he might be auditioning for 2024 work in Buffalo.

The logic (such as it is), as suggested by FanSided: "How the final month of the season shakes out will probably decide Sean McDermott's fate as the head coach of the Bills ... He is in dire need of an offensive coordinator he can trust. ... What about adding Moore if (Joe) Brady doesn't work?''

That's a lot of suppositions. To wit ...

*There is no present indication that McDermott is on the hot seat. These things can change, but the locker-room support offered him after the "9/11 pep talk'' controversy was revealing. The players are behind this coach.

*We're not sure what exactly Brady has done wrong in replacing Ken Dorsey after the latter's in-season firing. McDermott promoted him; why wouldn't McDermott "trust'' him.

*What is the connection that suggests McDermott would "trust'' Kellen Moore? We know Kellen fairly well from his time with the Dallas Cowboys. He's as bright as they come.

But how is anything being accomplished right now by the 5-9 Chargers merit anybody on that staff being touted as a savior?

The Bills owe it to themselves, regarding McDermott and Brady and this staff, to let things play out. But the idea scenario with this offense is all about Joe Brady ... and not at all about Kellen Moore.
