Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde likely played his last game with the Buffalo Bills in Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
And he may have played his last game in the NFL.
Hyde, who is 33, told reporters on Monday that he's going to take some time before making any decisions about his future.
The two-time Pro Bowler is a free agent after spending the last seven seasons with the Bills.
Over the last two seasons, Hyde played in just 16 regular season games. Injuries have mounted in recent years and Hyde said this season that it was "a battle each and every week to get back on that field on Sundays".
With uncertainty surrounding his football future, Hyde took time on Monday to reflect on his time in Buffalo. And he spoke from the heart.
"This is a very, very special place and they just needed some fresh faces to come in here and appreciate Buffalo for what it is," said Hyde. "And I think that we saw that. We made Buffalo our home also. And I think that as fans, they can tell the way we're playing on the field, the way we talk about this organization, what we do in the community, they see that we're not just NFL guys that are collecting a check getting in and out. They see that we're actually part of this with them. We feel the losses, we feel the wins, we feel the struggles....I think we helped the city of Buffalo and Buffalo helped us."
There's no doubt that Hyde will always be part of Bills Mafia, regardless of what happens this offseason. He embraced everything about Buffalo and Buffalo embraced him back.
