Bills GM Brandon Beane doesn't think Josh Allen 'has reached his ceiling'

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had a breakout season in 2020, leading the Bills to their first AFC East title since 1995 and first AFC Championship Game since 1993.

Allen said Monday that he "proved" the Bills didn't "make a mistake" in drafting in him after a solid season. General manager Brandon Beane lauded the young quarterback in his season-ending press conference on Wednesday, saying he could reach further heights in 2021.

"Very proud of him and I think he's shown people what he can do in this league," Beane said. "I don't think he's reached his ceiling. I think there's still growth for him."

The 24-year-old helped lead the Bills to a 13-3 record, completing 69.2% of his passes for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. He also had 421 yards and eight touchdowns rushing with a receiving score.

Allen set several franchise records this season, including passing touchdowns in a season (37), total touchdowns (45), completion percentage (69.2) and quarterback rating (107.2).

Allen currently has two years remaining on his four-year, $21 million rookie deal. However, he's due for a contract extension this offseason, and according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bills are looking to sign him to a "massive extension."
