Buffalo Bills edge-rusher Von Miller was probably one of the most disappointing players in the NFL this year, which has led to speculation that the Bills could part ways with him this offseason.

However, Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane seems to be hinting at Miller returning for 2024.

When asked about Miller’s status, Beane had nothing but good things to say about the veteran.

“I think it was trending up as the year went on,” Beane said, via the Bills’ official YouTube account. “Thought he actually made some good plays in the run game the other night more than pass rush opportunities that came up. But you saw that explosiveness coming back and that should only improve, according to our medical team.”

Miller tore his ACL in November 2022, and while he returned and played in 12 games this season, it was blatantly obvious that he was not fully recovered.

As a matter of fact, Miller logged just three tackles all season long, and when he was on the field, he didn’t even resemble a shell of his former shelf.

The Bills signed Miller to a six-year, $120M deal in March 2022, and he is already guaranteed to make $10.7M next season.

While many feel that Buffalo should just cut ties with Miller, releasing him now would not provide much cap relief for the team. Taking that into consideration, Beane’s assessment of the pass rusher may have more to do with accepting reality than genuinely believing that Miller will regain his form.

Now 35 years old, there was a time when Miller was one of the league’s premier defensive players during his days with the Denver Broncos.

Miller spent the first 10-and-a-half seasons of his career with the Broncos, logging double-digit sack totals seven times and making eight trips to the Pro Bowl.

Denver traded Miller to the Los Angeles Rams midway through the 2021-22 campaign, and he helped the Rams win a Super Bowl.

We’ll see if Miller can get right next season.
