Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen is still a pretty big project. He’s completed less than 53 percent of his passes in seven starts this season and is still about as inaccurate as they come.
But Allen’s frame and physical ability is what made him a top-10 pick in this past April’s draft. The Bills are banking on Allen progressing leaps and bounds on the field.
In what might be a sign of things to come, Allen has indeed played better in the two games since returning from injury. That includes him putting up 95-plus rushing yards in each of the past two games.
He’s also the first NFL quarterback to do that in the Super Bowl era.
This is pretty shocking given that the likes of Randall Cunningham, Colin Kaepernick and Michael Vick came before Allen. It’s also not one of things scouts focused the most on heading into the 2018 NFL Draft.
Allen has now put up 389 rushing yards and four touchdowns at a clip of 6.8 yards per rush.
