Bills' Josh Allen gushes over Jets' Aaron Rodgers, confirms FaceTime communication

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen recently dished out heavy compliments to New York Jets signal-caller Aaron Rodgers, calling the four-time MVP a "special player" and the most "gifted thrower of the football all time."

Allen discussed his relationship with Rodgers and more topics with Kevin Clark of the Ringer in an interview that was released on Wednesday.

"I've gotten to know Aaron a little bit over the years, and I would consider us fairly close," Allen told Clark. "I wouldn't say we text on the regular. I don't really call him; I FaceTime him. He usually answers, which is a big plus. I know he doesn't answer a lot of people."

Buffalo's two-time Pro Bowler reiterated that "you just gotta FaceTime (Rodgers) — he'll answer."

Allen's comments on Rodgers' preferred communication method are significant. The 39-year-old told reporters in April that his lack of communication with the Green Bay Packers early in the offseason was due to his "limited cell service" and how the organization apparently didn't try to reach him on FaceTime.

Even before Rodgers officially joined Gang Green this spring, there were multiple indications that he and Allen were forming a relationship, if not friendship.

In early February, the Bills QB joined Rodgers (as well as MLS star Gareth Bale and actor Will Arnett, among others) at the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. This was after Allen decided to sit out the Pro Bowl with an apparent injury.

Allen told Clark that he's looking forward to playing Rodgers (at least) twice during the 2023 season.

"I've just been such a fan of his since I was a little kid," he said. "Having his jerseys and trying to emulate what he does on the football field. ... Going up against him twice a year, it's going to be a battle."

New York will host Buffalo in Week 1 of the regular season on Sept. 11 on "Monday Night Football," and the Jets will travel to face the Bills in Week 11 on Nov. 19.
