Bills' Josh Allen slams 'stupid' Damar Hamlin conspiracy theories

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen doesn't want to hear any bizarre conspiracy theories regarding the recovery of teammate Damar Hamlin.

"Yeah, that’s stupid," Allen told NFL Network's Kyle Brandt during the latest edition of the "Kyle Brandt's Basement" podcast, as shared by Jenna Lemoncelli of the New York Post.

According to Lemoncelli, Outkick's David Hookstead, TMZ Sports, and other outlets, unfounded claims about Hamlin have spread throughout social media following his appearance at Sunday's playoff game between the Bills and Cincinnati Bengals held at Buffalo's Highmark Stadium. Hamlin rocked a face covering, hood, and sunglasses while watching from a private suite, and his outfit apparently caused some to believe a body double and not the 24-year-old was shown on television cameras and the stadium's big screen.

"…One, that’s Damar’s swag… he likes wearing that. Two, he was in the locker room with us pregame," Allen continued during the podcast. "So yes, that was Damar. There’s absolutely zero chance, there is absolutely zero chance. He’s Damar Hamlin. That’s our guy. That’s our brother. He was with us — pregame, postgame. He was up in the suite with his family, his little brother, 100 percent. So, people need to stop that s---."

Hamlin went into cardiac arrest during a "Monday Night Football" game in Cincinnati on Jan. 2 and eventually spent over a week inside medical facilities before he was discharged from Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute on Jan. 11. Ahead of this past Sunday's postseason action, Jordon Rooney, Hamlin's marketing representative and friend, noted the safety "still has a lengthy recovery" and "requires additional rest to help his body heal."

Hamlin seemed to poke fun at the conspiracy theories via Twitter earlier this week before he thanked fans for their prayers and support:

For what it's worth, TMZ Sports mentioned that Allen admitted he's interested in some conspiracy theories such as those regarding moon landings.
