Buffalo Bills leading tackler Terrel Bernard was carted off the field with a right ankle injury in the third quarter of Monday's AFC wild-card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Bernard underwent X-rays a short time later and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
The second-year linebacker injured the ankle while tackling Steelers receiver Diontae Johnson. He was examined on the field before being taken off via the cart with 13:10 left in the third quarter.
Bernard had four tackles and a fumble recovery on Monday. The fumble recovery came one play before Buffalo's second touchdown.
Bernard, 24, had 143 tackles, 6.5 sacks and three interceptions in 17 games during the regular season.
The Bills led 24-10 late in the third quarter.
