During the Buffalo Bills game against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12, two Bills players were involved in an altercation with an Eagles fan.
A video went viral showing Shaq Lawson shoving an Eagles fan in the stands. Fellow teammate Jordan Phillips was also involved in the altercation, arguing with the fan.
And now the Bills organization has decided to punish Lawson for his actions, fining him an undisclosed amount, Tom Pelissero reports.
This came after the Bills suffered frustrating loss to the Eagles. And both Lawson along with Phillips issued apologizes on social media. With that, they also provided some additional information on why they got so upset.
Here is what Lawson wrote:
"Those of you who know me know that I'm all about the fans, and I have a lot of respect for the game I play and my opponents. Before the game started yesterday, there was a fan behind our bench, who was making life threatening remarks towards us and our families. We asked Philadelphia security to remove the fan, but he was allowed to stay for the entire game. Eventually, our emotions boiled over, and I made a mistake. For that, I apologize, but there are certain lines that should not be crossed."
Here is what Phillips wrote:"I love the crowd I love rowdy fans it makes the game fun. But one thing I'm not going to tolerate is someone threatening me or my family. This is a line that shouldn't be crossed."
Pelissero added that the "matter is now resolved."
