Bills re-sign WR Isaiah McKenzie to two-year, $8 million deal

It was recently reported that the Buffalo Bills had granted permission to Cole Beasley to seek a trade this offseason. One of Beasley's teammates in the wide receiver group won't be going anywhere anytime soon, though.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the two-year deal is worth $8 million.

A fifth-round pick in 2017, Isaiah McKenzie spent the first season of his career with the Denver Broncos and played one game with the team the following year, before being acquired by Buffalo off waivers in November 2018. McKenzie has worked as a "Swiss army knife" in his 65 career NFL games over five campaigns, seeing time as a wide receiver, running back and punt and kickoff return man.

The 26-year-old scored the first two touchdowns of his career with the Bills in 2018, registering 10 carries for 66 yards and a pair of scores, while finishing with 582 all-purpose yards that year. McKenzie was mostly used as a wideout in 2019, scoring his first touchdown through the air, recording 27 catches for 254 yards and posting a career-high 39 targets.

The Georgia product was again limited on special teams in 2020, but his one punt return on the year was an 84-yard touchdown. He set career-bests that season in receptions (30), receiving yards (282) and receiving touchdowns (five).

McKenzie's 2021 campaign was arguably his best one, as he posted a career-high 960 all-purpose yards, including 584 on kick returns. During an important Week 16 victory over the rival-New England Patriots, he had the best game of his career as a receiver, recording 11 catches for 125 yards.
