Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde is slated to hit free agency this offseason, and if his wife’s recent social media post is any indication, it seems like he may be headed elsewhere.

Following the Bills’ Divisional Round playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs this past Sunday, Hyde’s wife, Amanda, took to Instagram to post a farewell message to the city of Buffalo.

“Through the highs and lows, you guys stood by our side, and we see you. This really is the city of good neighbors, and what a privilege it has been,” Amanda wrote. “So, Bills Mafia, thank you. Thank you for making this place our home… And thank you for making this place so hard to leave. You will always have a piece of our hearts, and man, do we love you guys!”

Hyde has spent the last seven years of his career with the Bills, and in his debut campaign with the club back in 2017, he made the Pro Bowl after racking up 82 tackles, five interceptions and 13 passes defended.

Recently, however, injuries have hampered the 33-year-old, as he was limited to just two games in 2022 and missed three contests this year.

During the 14 games Hyde played in 2023, he registered 54 tackles, a couple of picks and seven passes defended.

“This might sting now, but believe this – this city will get theirs,” Amanda continued. “And even if it might be our time to say goodbye, know that no matter where we go, or what may be next, the Hydes will happily be promoted from the roster to The Mafia.”

The Bills are entering the offseason with a miserable salary cap situation, as they are currently $51 million over the cap. Taking that into consideration, Hyde’s departure seems to be a foregone conclusion.

Clearly, his wife understands that.
