Bills pick Coleman Alicia Devine / USA TODAY NETWORK

As the NFL Draft turns to day two, the Buffalo Bills sent some shockwaves by first trading down with the Chiefs and then again with the Carolina Panthers. While the Bills had a glaring need at wide receiver after trading Stefon Diggs, allowing the Chiefs and Panthers to select wide receivers ahead of them raised a lot of questions.

The questions were quickly silenced as the Bills used the first pick of the second round to select wide receiver Keon Coleman from Florida State.

The addition of Coleman gives the Bills a day-one starter and a dynamic weapon for Josh Allen and the Bills offense. It also gives the Bills a clear top receiver that will pair nicely with Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, and tight end Dalton Kincaid.

Coleman provides the Bills with a big receiver that has an outstanding catch radius and routinely makes acrobatic catches look routine. Although his 40-yard time at the NFL Combine disappointed some and hurt his draft stock, he still has a quick first step and an elite ability to catch any pass thrown his way. He's a crisp route runner that excels at running routes in and out of traffic. He showcases a great ability to separate and makes a living high-pointing the pass and winning jump balls. He's got a prototypical size to become a favorite target of any offense.

While some questioned the Bills for trading their top receiver away, selecting Coleman with the first selection in the second round fills a very big need for the Bills and is a great value pick for the organization as they continue to compete in the AFC. Coleman is a first-round talent who due to the sheer depth of quality players slipped out of the first, and provides a quality replacement for the Bills after the Diggs' trade.

Pick grade - A+. Fills a huge need for the Bills offense. Quality player who creates mismatches for defenses. Fearless in his approach and does well in and out of traffic.
