The entire city of Boston seems to be in mourning after their beloved New England Patriots were surprisingly defeated by the Tennessee Titans in the AFC wild-card round last week.

Said despair could soon take on new meaning should six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady opt to sign with another team during free agency. Brady himself would not commit to returning to the Pats for a 21st season.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is now looking to do something about that. The politician noted that he’s prepared to name two iconic buildings after Brady.

”This is serious business here,” he said, via WEEI. “Tom Brady is not done yet. I don’t know how many times he has to prove he is the greatest of all-time. But his next chapter of proving it, it better be wearing a No. 12 Patriots jersey, that’s all I can say. We were talking in City Hall yesterday about what we could do. We thought about simple things like renaming the Hancock and the Prudential both after Brady.”

If this seems like a bad Dr. Seuss novel coming to life, that’s likely because it is. Thing 1 and Thing 2. Brady 1 and Brady 2. Get it?

All joking aside, it sure looks like those in Beantown are doing everything possible for a Brady-Patriots reunion.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be in the cards right now. Brady is upset about the lack of long-term commitment New England has shown to him. He’s also not happy after taking hometown discounts multiple times over the past several seasons.

If Brady were to leave, the Cowboys and Raiders are among the teams favored to land him.

That would be one odd sight.
