Broncos add Kellen Moore, Eric Bienemy, Nathaniel Hackett to requested interviews list

The Broncos moved quickly in their search for a new head coach after firing Vic Fangio this past weekend, as they requested to interview a pair of top assistants early Monday.

Now, that list is getting even longer.

Denver requested permission to interview a trio of offensive coordinators on Monday, as they will reportedly speak with the Cowboys' Kellen Moore, the Chiefs' Eric Bienemy and the Packers' Nathaniel Hackett.

Moore has been a fast riser since joining the Cowboys' staff in 2018 as quarterbacks coach. He assumed offensive coordinator duties ahead of the 2019 season, and remained in the position when Mike McCarthy took over as head coach following longtime coach Jason Garrett's dismissal. The Cowboys ranked first in total offense in 2019 and 2021 under Moore, and ranked 14th in 2020 despite losing Dak Prescott midway through the year.

This isn't the first time Bienemy's name has come up in the coaching carousel, as the Chiefs' top assistant has interviewed for a handful of jobs in recent years without being hired. Kansas City has ranked in the top six in total offense every year with Bienemy as offensive coordinator, including first place finishes in 2018 (6,810) and 2020 (6,653).

Denver will have to wait to interview Moore and Bienemy since their teams are still alive in the playoffs, but they'll be able to speak with Hackett as soon as this week since the Packers are on a bye. After stints in Buffalo and Jacksonville, Hackett became Green Bay's offensive coordinator in 2019, and has led the Packers to top-10 finishes in total offense in each of the past two seasons.

Earlier in the day, the Broncos requested interviews with Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and Patriots inside linebackers coach Jerod Mayo.
