Broncos devising large-scale plans for stadium's future

After a 5-12 season and missing the playoffs for a seventh consecutive year, the Broncos want their fans to envision a brighter future, starting with a new stadium and a rehash of the current one.

According to The Athletic's Nick Kosmider, the Broncos sent fans surveys asking questions about a new stadium's preferred location, potential roof and several other options. Team president Damani Leech told Kosmider more than 7,000 surveys have been submitted, and it will have full results in late April or early May.

The Broncos must wait to build this new stadium. Per Kosmider, they have nine years left on their lease with Empower Field at Mile High.
However, Denver might want a head start because new stadiums and renovations will pop up across the league.

"Roughly half of NFL teams are evaluating major renovations or full-scale replacements for their current homes, keeping in mind the soaring construction costs, tight labor supplies and rising interest rates," wrote Sportico's Kurt Badenhausen.

Also, New stadiums like Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium ($1.2B) and Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium ($5.5B) have blown prior gameday experiences out of the water.

"They are not only two of the best venues in football but also two of the premier venues in the world," wrote Badenhausen.

Subsequently, Denver embarked on a project worth more than $100M to improve Empower Field. The plan features upgrades to the team store, suites and a scoreboard 70 percent bigger than the old one.

The expenditures seem outrageous, but the NFL is a mega enterprise, and one of its key business components is pleasing fans. So Denver will keep undertaking more lavish endeavors.
