Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay thinks new offense will be easy to learn

Denver Broncos undrafted running back Phillip Lindsay will play for his third offensive coordinator in as many NFL seasons, but the 25-year-old isn't intimidated by the task of learning another new offense.

Although Lindsay hasn't been able to work with new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur in person yet due to the coronavirus pandemic, he's convinced that the new offense won't be so hard to pick up once training camp begins.

“I think it’s gonna be simpler for us to learn,” Lindsay said, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic. “And I think it’s going to be aggressive. I just think that it’s what fits my style, and I’ve been able to adapt to every style, but I think that this style right here is something that is going to fit me, kind of like how my rookie year was. I’m excited about that.”

Lindsay's 2019 production was down from his rookie campaign, but he still managed to rush for 1,011 yards and seven touchdowns while adding 196 yards receiving. Unfortunately, he may see a decline in touches during the coming season after the addition of two-time Pro Bowler Melvin Gordon this offseason.

However, he'll still be used effectively alongside some of Denver's other offensive threats, like rookie wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton and tight ends Jake Butt and Noah Fant.

The Broncos went 7-9 in the AFC West last season, sitting second to only the 12-4 Kansas City Chiefs. They have a tremendous chance to once again place second in the division, but division rivals Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers may give them a difficult time accomplishing that.
