Broncos' Von Miller misses practice ahead of Washington game due to ankle injury

Last Thursday's 17-14 loss at the Cleveland Browns was particularly painful for the Broncos in that it was Denver's fourth straight defeat that dropped a once-unbeaten team to 3-4 on the season, and also because both nose tackle Mike Purcell and star pass-rusher Von Miller suffered physical setbacks in the prime-time clash.

Purcell went down with what was referred to as a "significant" thumb injury, and head coach Vic Fangio said Tuesday Purcell "probably" won't play in at least this coming Sunday's matchup versus the 2-5 Washington Football Team, per Aric DiLalla of the club's website. Miller, meanwhile, sprained his ankle in Cleveland, and Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk notes that Miller was a non-participant in Wednesday's practice.

Miller also didn't take part in Tuesday's bonus session.

"Honestly, if we had to list a category today, he’d be questionable," Fangio said of Miller.

According to ESPN stats, Miller leads the Broncos with 4.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss on the campaign.

Earlier on Wednesday, Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater admitted about the season: "It’s not time to panic, but it almost is because this thing can go in the wrong direction fast."

For a piece published Monday, Sean Keeler of The Denver Post wrote the Broncos should try to sell Bridgewater to any willing buyer ahead of next Tuesday's NFL trade deadline.
