Broncos WR Tim Patrick carted off field after suffering apparent leg injury

The Kansas City Chiefs weren't the only AFC West team to see one of their wide receivers go down with an injury during training camp on Tuesday.

Defensive end Shelby Harris -- who was traded from the Broncos to the Seattle Seahawks in March -- spent the last four seasons playing with Patrick, who made his NFL debut with Denver in 2018. Harris tweeted this message, as reports of his former teammate's injury came out, presumably referring to Patrick.

The 28-year-old wideout set career highs in targets (85) and receptions (53) during the 2021 campaign while recording 734 receiving yards and a team-high five touchdowns. Patrick's target and reception totals ranked third on the Broncos last season behind 2019 Pro Bowler Courtland Sutton and tight end Noah Fant, while his receiving yards were second highest only behind Sutton.

With new quarterback Russell Wilson in stow, Patrick joins the likes of Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler on Denver's projected depth chart for 2022.
