The New Orleans Saints and star safety Von Bell are currently dealing with an unimaginable tragedy.

Bell’s 29-year-old brother, Volonte, was one of two people killed in a two-car accident on Insterstate 24 in Tennessee Sunday night.

“According to police, a Volvo truck with a trailer attached to the back was traveling in the middle eastbound lane when a Honda Civic traveling behind it failed to slow down and struck the trailer,” The Tennessean noted on Monday.

Bell himself took to social media later on Monday to thank everyone for their warm wishes while noting how hard this tragedy is hitting his family.

Four years younger than his now-deceased brother, Bell is slated to hit free agency this coming March.

It was expected to be a great moment in Bell’s career, one that could see him take the next step.

Unfortunately, that all now takes a back seat to this devastating tragedy.

Our thoughts go out to Bell, his family and the Saints’ organization during these most difficult of times.
