Browns CB Martin Emerson finds himself in elite company

The Cleveland Browns might have themselves a draft steal in 2022 third-round cornerback Martin Emerson.

The Mississippi State alum has found himself in quite the company after posting up 11 defended passes and a sack this season.

That's quite a feat for Emerson to be grouped in the same field with superstar Los Angeles Rams corner Jalen Ramsey.

Emerson already has a quick fan in Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski.

“I just really, really love that kid’s mentality,” Stefanski told Cleveland.com. “Rookie corners, they know the offensive coordinator over there gets off of the bus thinking about going after a rookie corner so the ball is coming, and they may make a play here or there, but he is not afraid of it. It is fun to watch.”

The rookie cornerback has found himself a nice spot on the Cleveland defense alongside cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Greg Newsome II.

Emerson has played in every game of his rookie campaign. He's started in five games, posting up 50 tackles to go along with his 11 passes defended and sack.

With Ward, Newsome and Emerson all under contract going forward, Cleveland might have one of the best young cornerback groups in the NFL.
