Cleveland Browns QB Joe Flacco Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns made sure to compensate their quarterback even if he isn’t taking the field Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Flacco is expected to sit out the team's Week 18 contest at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. The 38-year-old QB is getting a well-deserved rest after already having helped his team clinch a playoff berth.

There was only one downside to Flacco missing the final contest. The veteran QB would have to forego a shot at his $75k contract incentive for every win in which he plays 50% of the snaps.

The Browns did the right thing and just awarded Flacco the money outright. They converted the incentive into a $75k bonus.

The former Super Bowl MVP has earned a decent chunk of change from the aforementioned incentive over the past few weeks. The Browns have won their last four games with Flacco under center. That’s a hard-earned $300,000 bonus.

Browns fans no-doubt believe Flacco deserves the bonuses and more with the way he has been slinging it of late. The veteran signal-caller has averaged 340.5 passing yards with at least two touchdown tosses during the team’s current four-game winning streak.
