Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is recovering from shoulder surgery, but he seems to be making great progress in his rehabilitation.

During a recent episode of his QB Unplugged podcast, Watson spoke about the progress he has made.

“The situation is good,” Watson said. “We’re in a great spot, right where we need to be. We have plenty of time to ramp up the throwing sessions and things like that, but everything is going pretty smooth.”

Watson injured his shoulder in his team’s Week 10 win over the Baltimore Ravens and was knocked out for the remainder of the season. He underwent surgery in November.

The good news is that it’s looking like Watson will be ready for Week 1 of 2024.

“As long as I’m feeling well and the doctors and (physical therapists) and everyone are on the same page, we’re in a good spot,” he said.

In six games this past year, Watson threw for 1,115 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 61.4 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 84.3.

The Browns initially acquired the 28-year-old in a blockbuster trade with the Houston Texans in March 2022 and then proceeded to hand Watson an unprecedented, fully guaranteed $230 million extension.

Needless to say, it has not worked out for Cleveland thus far.

Watson has played in just 12 games for the Browns, as he served an 11-game suspension for sexual misconduct allegations during his debut campaign for the club in 2022.

During the six games Watson played that season, he totaled 1,102 yards, seven touchdowns and five picks while completing 58.2 percent of his throws and registering a 79.1 passer rating.

Hopefully, Deshaun Watson can play a full season next year and regain his MVP-caliber form from his days with the Texans.
