The Cleveland Browns have made their first practice squad call up of the season by elevating veteran offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe. The move becomes necessary as James Hudson is dealing with an ankle injury that happened in practice this week.

This almost certainly means Hudson will not play. He was unable to practice yesterday and is officially listed as questionable for the game against the Titans on Sunday. Nsekhe will now serve as the swing tackle should an injury occur to either Jed Wills or Dawand Jones.

Nsehke is a 37 year old veteran free agent who has spent time with several teams. He was originally signed in the NFL in 2012 by the Indianapolis Colts. He most recently played for the Los Angeles Rams last season where he allowed 8 pressures and 3 sacks playing in 10 games according to Pro Football Focus.

Nsekhe was signed after the season ending injury to Jack Conklin to presumably operate as the fourth tackle from the practice squad. He can be called up for action on game days until they sort things out over time.

By signing a veteran it didn't take long to get him up to speed and ready should he need to play. This also allowed Alex Leatherwood some more time to develop and learn on the practice squad.
