Cleveland Browns wide receiver Elijah Moore left Thursday night’s game against the New York Jets after exhibiting some frightening symptoms, and the team has provided a positive update on his health.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters on Friday that Moore spent the night in the hospital but has been released. Moore is now in the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Moore caught a pass from Joe Flacco late in the second quarter of Cleveland’s 37-20 win over the Jets. The receiver gained 22 yards before being tackled by linebacker C.J. Mosley. Moore’s head was driven straight into the turf face-first on the tackle.

Moore had some involuntary shaking in his limbs as he was lying on the ground, which is a sign of a brain injury. He was quickly ruled out with a concussion.

The Browns will now have to take it day by day with Moore, who finished with five catches for 61 yards and a touchdown on Thursday. Cleveland clinched a playoff spot with the victory over the Jets and still has a chance to earn the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC.
